In Aotearoa, all schools and kura are encouraged to offer digital technologies and hangarau matihiko from 2020. Key to this change are the two new areas of learning: Computational Thinking / Te Whakaaro Rorohiko and Designing Digital Outcomes / Tangata me te Rorohiko. This change aims to develop students as creators of digital technology, not just users, and to encourage students to consider their responsibilities as digital citizens.
